Files

Files are where your organization keeps what agents need to know. Anything worth keeping should live here, not only in a chat.

Good things to keep in files:

• SOPs, policies, manuals, and troubleshooting guides
• exhibit or venue details
• inspection checklists and evidence
• images, maps, 3D scans, and simulation assets
• notes and summaries from building and testing

Open Files in the app to browse, upload, and edit them. Markdown and plain text open in an editor right there. Each agent has its own folder, and shared documents and skills can sit anywhere in the organization's files.

An agent reads the documents listed as its instructions when a session starts, and follows links in them when it needs more. Builder and connected assistants work with the same files.

Technical

• One upload can be up to 1 GB. Larger uploads are refused with a 413 error that names the limit, and the partial file is removed. WORLDAGENTS_WORKSPACE_UPLOAD_LIMIT_MB changes the limit per environment.
• Files you attach in Builder are saved in the uploads/ folder.
• An agent's own files are in agents/<agent id>/data/. Instructions name organization files with a shared: prefix.
• The server owns storage paths. Apps get links to files and treat them as opaque.
